Xinjiang Uygur Regional Museum in Urumqi, China

Urumqi (Pronounced: Y-RYM-chee) (乌鲁木齐; Wūlǔmùqí; Uyghur: ئۈرۈمچی) is the capital of the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region, located in the Tian Shan mountains. I started with the nearby Xinjiang Uygur Regional Museum (Qu Bowuguan, 自治区博物馆) - which exhibits a few mummies and other artifacts. I saw many different mummies in different countries, including the famous ice mummy in Peru. These are preserved in great conditions with even nail publish. This museum also provides a very good introduction about the history and minorities. Free Admission.
