Pamir Highway Day 6 Yamchun Fort / Bibi Fatima Springs - Darshsi

We back-tracked 5 km from Langar to check out Ratm Fort which was strategically  surrounded on three sides by cliffs, and then walked off the main road through bushes to get to the Fort and got a view of the site of the watchtower. Out second stop was12th-century Yamchun Fort and the nearby Bibi Fatima Springs. I paid 10 somoni to share the 40c hot
turquoise spring with local ladies nakedly. The hot spring was named after the Prophet Mohammed’s daughter. Women believe they can boost their fertility by visiting the womblike calcite formations. Men’s and women’s bath times alternate every half hour. The local women were friendly yet quietly enjoyed the spring with three nature massage water streams.

We then had lunch at a restaurant near the hot spring. We stayed overnight at a homestay at Daushai (with a sign near the main road but not listed in Lonely Planet) and were forced to have soup that we were so sick of for dinner and we could not wait to get in a bigger town for different food and more vegetables. By the way, the homestay has the worst toilet and the boss was mean (tried to overcharge us).
