Fort Hissar outside Dushanbe, Tajikistan

I paired with a hostel mate to visit Fort Hissar using three segments of transportation to get to this Fort 15 miles outside of Dushanbe. The Fort was Rebuilt in 13th century and includes small museums of ancient Tajik culture, and it is printed on 20 TJS note. We took a #8 bus (2 TJS) and told the driver we need to go to ‘vaghzale Hissor,’ or ride towards the end of the route when saw a large area full of cars. From there we caught a shared taxi to Hissar village (5 TJS), and were let off near the bazaar and then got anther  shared taxi to the ‘kale.’ (2 TJS). The return trip was most interesting in that  a local taxi driver misunderstood where we wanted to go and dropped us back to the bazaar and we managed to get the right bus back to hostel.
