Walk up to Elephant Mountain in Taipei

My plan of hiking on a trail in Yangmingshan National Park was interrupted by the forecasted rain, but I walked up 30 minutes to the elephant mountain with one college classmate instead. We walked up the mountain to see the rocks and look at the view over the city. The skyline includes Taipei 101 tower. There are other trails connecting to other mountains, but I needed to make a lunch appointment with an old friend who enjoys savings and food deals in the department store basement as much as I do. We chatted over coffee after the lunch of Oyster omelet (蚵仔煎 ó āh jiān), made from eggs, oysters and the leaves of a local chrysanthemum, topped with sweet red sauce.
